I have seen threads on moving the battery to the boot but nothing on adding a second battery. has anyone done this to there 206?

I plan on adding a second battery with a solar charger for when the engine is off and a battery isolator so i cant flatten my main battery but the alternator will also charge the second battery. I wont be used for starting so should be any massive load on it.
I will run my CB Radio and a 600w transformer so I can run my Toughbook and other charging devices (not all at same time obviously) when I am out and about.

Where would be the best place for a second battery and what kind of battery would be best? would my alternator cope with charging two batteries?

Ideas welcome Smile

I would have a look at the system they use for the twin electrics on a towbar. Pretty sure the 12S connection is used for charging the caravan battery

Yeah I'm quiet interested in this too. I had the same idea, although I had two caravan batteries hooked upto a 3000watt inverter with the parcel shelf being a solar panel. Never had it hooked up the the alternator though, did a fine job for the camping. Not the best idea due to all the extra weight.

Two caravan batteries wow that's a bit extreme for my application. It's simple enough to connect it to the main battery just use a isolator, that allows the battery to be charged from the alternator!
I wouldn't want to stick a battery in the cabin area or even the boot for safety reasons so it would have to go under the hood or under the rear of the car somewhere!
