Hi there,
I am giving my car a good once over today and also changing the coolant. Whilst under the car I noticed two holes, which appear to have been drilled in the bottom of the air intake.
Are these meant to be there? Are they for drainage?
I have also noticed a air rushing type of sound when I put my foot down.
I have attached a photo hopefully this will be of help.
Many thanks!

Can anyone verify if their intake has the holes also?

Not 100% sure but just looking at how rough edged they look they don't look like anything done from production, more an attempt to increase induction noise.
I'll have a look under mine a little later to verify though.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I think they look drilled for definite. I think I may make an attempt to cover them.

Thanks for the reply. That's very interesting. Can anyone else verify if theirs has the two holes drilled?

It's a funny setup on the 180. The box splits of into two. There a pressure switch that opens a 2nd air vent. I guess the holes are there to allow air in because I would say the air box is restricted the way it's been setup. Also its a big engine in a small space & gets hot quick.

Yeah it does make sense, It is a strange arrangement for sure.
Potentially for drainage too if any water did get in I guess.

I have them. They are in the lower part of the pipe, they are needed to drip the water if it's sucked inside the pipe.
