I went to get some new suspension for my car, I had to get one off a hatchback 1.4 8v and the other off a CC 1.6 16v, the shocks look exactly the same but will they both fit okay on my 1.1?
The only difference is one spring has a yellow and blue dots on it and the other has a red and blue dots.

You need a MATCHING pair of springs & dampers.
Mixing different spec springs & dampers on the same axle isn't advised!

Are they the same dampers? Both springs on my car are fine its just the dampers leaking.

The 1.6 damper is a different part number, the 1.4 damper MAY be the same part number as one already fitted to your car as SOME of the TU1 206s share the same dampers as the TU3 BUT without checking the VIN numbers I cant confirm its the same.
You can get a decent branded Boge or Sachs damper for between £40 & £45 each new from either GSF or Euro's.
Have a look on everyones favourite auction site.
Gabriel & Monroe are also both decent brands to look for.

New suspension parts cost so little it just doesn't make sense to get them off a scrapper.

Mines a 2000 lx model, I really hope that they are the same, like I said they look identical apart from the springs, im guessing the one with the red dot it a stiffer spring?
The springs on my car are both pretty new its literally just the dampers and top bearings but both the dampers I've acquired are good, plenty of life in these ones, only really need them until I can afford uprated ones.

My thoughts are that now you've bought them, put them on and then let us know when the car wobbles all over the road.

Guess il have to spend more money then :/ I was just going to swap my springs on to the "new" shock absorbers but noticed one says 5B and the other is 10B so il just get another.
Will both CC legs make my car unstable, lower or higher riding ect?
Im led to believe that the CC suspension is slightly stiffer too.

I don't recommend buying a second hand dampers, always go for a well brand, and new spare parts,as these for safety, which means your life and others.

The dampers are being reconditioned before fitting even though they have had less than 1000 miles through them and the car was a back end write off, no damage to the front end at all.
Will it be okay putting the 1.6 cc shock absorbers on my 1.1 hatch though??

You can use any shock absorbers from any model, just make sure THEY ARE A MATCHING PAIR as everyone has already stated. I would not recommend 2nd hand suspension parts! Why get them reconditioned? By the time you buy them and the recon them it will be pretty much the same price as a new set....

This! Not worth the risk, just get a new set and be happy with noise free suspension.
