Hello everyone,
I have a 206 look, 51 plate, 1.1 litre engine, the looks keep jumping back up whenever I use the remote and when this happens, most of the times the engine turns but won't start, eventually it does after I press the unlock button on the remote (temporarily fixed this by taking the battery out, although I'd like some tips on how to fix this permanently and make it work).
My main issue though is that the central stop light flashes continuously when the engine is running, I've checked all fluids, I've changed the oil and filter, changed the coolant, topped up the breaks, checked the power steering, they're all at the maximum levels, the car itself also drives as it should.
No garages which I've been at did anything to fix this problem, saying if all levels are fine, then the car is good to drive.
Is there anyone around BA12 area which has a PP2000, maybe we can meet and they can tell me what error codes show up.
Thanks in advance.

Is it multiplexed?
Very early multiplexed 206 software, the STOP light will flash when a door isn't shut correctly.
Your locking problem with a door latch sensor may be why the STOP lamp is flashing

Thanks for your reply, yes it does say on the central console display that the right door is open, even though it's shut, I'm guessing it's multiplexed, could you tell me if I attach a photo? Thank you.

Have a look at your radio stalk. Long and thin = pre-plex, short and fat = Multi-plexed

Thank you, so it's multiplexed, and indeed it is showing right from door open on the display, the stop is flashing all the time the engine is on, no other lights come on as a warning. Could it just be this?

After reading a bit on the forum, do you think an ELM327 or another OBDII (as the car is October 2001) tool would help in reading the fault, or any other faults? Thanks.

OBDII Scanners will only give certain codes at the best of times, however in this instance the car's already pin-pointed the fault in my opinion. Leave a door open and start the ignition and the STOP will flash.
The car's saying the door's open...
Change the unit out with a second hand one from a breaker...
It's a relatively quick and simple operation, just make sure the unit you buy is for the multi-plex version. If memory serves me right it's door card off,3 screws thta retain the latch, one connection to unclip and the 3 metal rods to detach. Refit the new one and voila'!
