The horn on my 1.4 Verve has gone from pants to even more pants (now sounds like a fart when you blow it), so I'm gonna change it in case it doesn't pass its next MOT in the current state. It might just be water in the trumpet, but I've ordered a twin-tone from a 307 off eBay anyway, same connector so will be plug and play.
Few questions, is there a way to simply unclip the lower grille without removing the entire bumper (which I don't really trust myself do to)? 
Or is there another way to access the horn? If I remove the driver side splashguard under the wheel arch, is it accessible from behind?
And do I really need to disconnect the battery when changing it? Some places recommend you do, but to be honest, you don't need to do this when unplugging other basic connectors around the car... Don't want to lose my radio, I don't have the code.

Pretty sure the Verve is a later trim model (around 2005/6), so will be multi-plexed. The radio is VIN coded so there is no code to enter. Best practice is to disconnect the battery following the correct procedure to avoid any risk to the BSI while carrying out any electrical work
Not sure how easy it is to access the horn. When I have been under mine the horn looks pretty accessible if you have small hands and the right tools.

I changed my horn just by removing the lower grill. Its a bit tight but not really that bad at all. I was actually surprised how little time it took.

It is a multiplexed one yeah - that's good to know, didn't realise that. Given me a bit more confidence fitting a Bluetooth XCarLink to the radio in the future.
In that case I'm guessing the grille just requires a good old push at the clip points to detach it? Some of it was already unclipped, supposedly a mechanic didn't fully snap it all back in when doing work on it previously. Just seems quite hard to get the rest of it to detach. The rest of the bumper is bending with it and feels like it's gonna break.
