Hi, I have a 2005 1.6 16v 206cc, when I start to move there is a scrapping noise coming from the front nearside , it goes in time with wheel rotation and gets faster as speed increases until at a certain speed , I can't hear it. Turning does not make much difference but when I depress the clutch and coast the noise stops. There is no noise with just the engine running, and it makes no difference if you are turning. I have tried moving the front wheels but can feel no movement, and get no vibration in the steering at 10mph or 70mph. If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful Thanks .

Sounds like a wheel bearing or possibly drive shaft.

If it disappears when the clutch is pressed then it's the clutch release bearing. can you feel the vibration though the clutch?
If not probably a wheel bearing !!

If it aint broke dont fix it !
