Hello All,

This has probably been asked over and over but I just want to double check if I go ahead and do it.

I have been looking at some rear lights such as these:

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEU...4d1e8efe9f

But I'm unsure if they are fully legal, still be bright enough and would they also come with bulbs?

Also I believe that I can just un-clip mine and plug these straight in?

Any body own these or know if its just cheap chav rubbish.

If they are E marked, they are fine. My aftermarket headlamps came with all bulbs. I think I have seen a neighbour of my parents with these on his car and he has not had any issues at all.... apart from being sectioned under the mental health act a few weeks back (no joke!)

Ah its good to hear some reassuring news, E marked meaning they are fully legal correct?

Hopefully they will come with bulbs then instead of me faffing around! Well as long as they dont turn you mental then im sure they will be okay Wink

Guessing they will be plug and play?

If they are sold as E marked they should have an "E" marking on the lens somewhere. This makes them MOT-passable. Of course if you stick ultra-bright dazzling bulbs in them they will be illegal but yes, so long as you use the correct bulbs and supply the correct power, they will be legal if E-marked.

Not 100% about plug and play. I know my Angle Eye lights certainly weren't, I needed to make a whole loom up for them myself to plug them in (because my car was H7, the lights only came in H4...) Rear lights shouldn't be so bad as they haven't changed in terms of the lights present in them as far as I am aware.

Fits the stock plug on the harness, so yes. No variants in wiring depending on year - the rears are the same, electrically, all years (unlike the fronts).
And just one nut to loosen on each bulb (and IIRC one mushroom clip so you can fold down the carpet to get at the connector and nut). The rubber seal can grow pretty attached and require some wiggling and pushing before it lets go.

Just another data point re the bulbs, my aftermarket lights did not include reverse / indicator bulbs (rear/brake are LED's), so if in doubt, ask the seller.
Not that I see a couple of bulbs as much of an issue.
Most likely you'd need 4x white 21W (reverse/indicator (looks like the indicator has an internal orange lens, so no need for orange bulb)) and 2x 21W/5W dual filament (rear/brake) Trivial enough to fit, double so when you have the lights off the car and have unhindered access and view...
