Anti-lag with a strong turbo would be fine I understand that turbos life spans are shortened but if I get into hill climbs I think it will be a benefit for the car. I wont be driving this car on a daily basis and you can set anti-lag up so you can turn it on/off if I was driving it on the roads.

It depends what you want out of the car. Im using stock internals as the engines have been proven to 300hp. New emerald ecu.. downpipes.. tip.. bigger injectors.. oil hose setup.. intercooler.. clamps.. pipes.. recirc or dump valve.. external or internal wastegate and plenty of other things. I will be doing all the work to get everything setup and then be dropping it off with a tuning garage to sort the power setup side of things.

Im just trying to advise you, you wont need but if you really wanted it. One stock internals wouldnt cope and maram shafted billet wheel turbo would may be able to cope but then you are talking plus 2k for a unit

Just get a t28 on there and youll be fine, mine made boost at 2.5k and full boost by 3.5 and thats a 1.6!

The anti-lag is not fully on the cards yet I have said maybe end up with anti-lag if I get into hill climbs. Then it will be fully forged. At present the aim is to get the car to around 240hp with similar torque values. Then after a few years if I'm looking into getting into hill climbing with a few mates I know that are starting to do it now, then I would look into fully forging the engine with a bigger stronger turbo.

For now it is going to be a saab/volvo turbo or something similar.. I could even weld on a new flange if I wanted to broaden my search for a turbo. One step at a time.

A few packages turned up today I was like a kid at Christmas opening them Smile

The turbo internals are in perfect condition and after a quick clean up on the outside it will look brand new.

The 3 gauges are EGT.. Boost and Vacuum with a single din gauge mount. Thinking of maybe getting myself an intake temp gauge.

There are 10 turbo clamps to keep all the intercooler pipework together.

Dump valve and all the required pipe work to plumb everything in to the system.

Then decided on the T28 turbo from the 200sx

Contemplating using some 330cc injectors in the build. Due to the power output being 240-260bhp I will need to check these will be big enough

They wont be, 490s i would say

You want to keep the duty cycle below the 70 percent mark to keep atomisation good

I'd be straight to DP Engineering for one of their manifolds on a job like this. Buying something proven to work will save headaches further down the line.

490's? I have seen starlet turbos running 330cc on 240bhp + in the past? I have it worked out around 400cc.

This manifold was proven on a 206 that was running over 300bhp.. the dp-engineering manifold would be a necessity if I wanted to run 500bhp like some of the dp-engineering builds, but im only running 240bhp. The manifold has been checked over by a very good welder I know and he has said that the welds and pipe bend work would be more than capable of running what I want to run.

I'm not an expert on injectors so any advice is good

I would send it all back and stick with N/A pal. Thers no point in going big power if you can't use it or get it down. On track your on and off the throttle all the time it's just not worth it.

No I think I will stick with the turbo project, its been my plan for years now and 240 bhp isn't big power at all. If you look at what some of the lads off DP-Engineering are running 240bhp is nothing. Yours is 200+ so its not much more power than that really I will just get there slightly quicker (possibly) with an LSD to help get the power down.
