Thanks to the useful info on here, I think I've diagnosed worn out bushes/wishbones. The car is a 2000 W reg XS, low mileage (52k) and on the original wishbones/bushes. Reading others' experiences, I think they are probably shot, but would welcome any other thoughts before I take it to the local independent Peugeot one man band garage. I'm not really set up to change them myself as I live in central London, have no outside space etc.

Symptoms are that there is a judder felt through the steering wheel under heavy braking at speeds above 60mph, and the steering wheel judders a little at speeds over 70mph. The handling isn't massively affected, it just feels a bit disconcerting.

Wheels and tyres are standard pug fit. The wheels are balanced also. Brakes are (I believe) ok - it had discs and pads about 4k miles ago and doesn't get heavy use.

Any other thoughts on what it might be? Are these symptoms consistent with wishbone/bush failure? Cheers.

Not anything noticeable. The judder is light and felt through the steering wheel. Cheers.

Probably Been curbed .
Classic symptom
Change the wheel bolts & the hub.

Check the wheels for dents on the inside before you buy parts.
Try swapping the wheels around see what happens ?

If it aint broke dont fix it !
