I need of a be windscreen and seen on for £30 near me. I have an 03 gti 180 but the windscreen is from a 206cc. Will this fit my car? Also it has light/rain sensor does this effect the type of windscreen I need?

Think a CC is different to hatch .. but maybe someone can confirm. I think there is a specific screen with sensor .. so you have to get the right one ... don't you have screen cover on your insurance?

Reusing a screen may not be a good idea ... they are not easy to remove without chipping them and this will just weaken it ...

I can use my rain sensor but not sure if it has to be a compatible windscreen. The difference I can see is on mine with the sensor there is some black film? That extends behind the mirror a tad more. If anyone can get what I mean from that lol

The CC front windscreen will not fit the hatch,if your car got light/rain sensor ,you need to get a windscreen the is the same as yours so that you have the original look, and hide sensor and wiring behind the black film.

The only time I asked it wasn't much cheaper the fully comp and a lot less risky.

Still a gti screen should fit but my concerns over a 2nd hand screen still stand ...

The black dotted mask on windscreen is to hide wiring and probably prevent extra light intake.

Rain/light sensor lenses will have a clear rectangular cut-out into which they will be glued with special translucent and particle-free glue.

The sensor itself clips onto those lenses, and can be swapped out easily.

Your best bet is a windscreen with rain sensor (at least mask and undamaged lenses) from a 206, I wouldn't risk it for biscuit.

Make a few phone calls and see how much it will cost for a new screen supplied and fitted. I paid £90 from a local independent fitter.

The screen on ebay is secondhand and £75 (and I highly doubt a 207 screen will fit in a 206). Add another £30-£40 on for fitting, and that's if you can find someone to fit a secondhand screen.

Is it worth scrimping on safety?
