For some reason my code reader will no longer switch on when connected to the EOBD plug. It still works on my other cars.
As my car spends so long being unused it spends all of the time with the battery disconnected. Could this have done something to the BSI ( a non multiplexed 206 still has one doesn't it? )
Don't forget my engine is now run from the Omex ECU. any ideas? Everything else still works like the clocks etc.

I thought the code readers read from the ECU and not the BSI. Could it be the Omex ECU isn't EOBD compliant?
It might also be the OBD protocols that are out

ISO 9141-2. This protocol has an asynchronous serial data rate of 10.4 kbit/s. It is somewhat similar to RS-232; however, the signal levels are different, and communications happens on a single, bidirectional line without additional handshake signals. ISO 9141-2 is primarily used in Chrysler, European, and Asian vehicles.
pin 7: K-line
pin 15: L-line (optional)
UART signaling
K-line idles high, with a 510 ohm resistor to Vbatt
The active/dominant state is driven low with an open-collector driver.
Message length is Max 260Bytes. Data field MAX 255.

ISO 15765 CAN (250 kbit/s or 500 kbit/s). The CAN protocol was developed by Bosch for automotive and industrial control. Unlike other OBD protocols, variants are widely used outside of the automotive industry. While it did not meet the OBD-II requirements for U.S. vehicles prior to 2003, as of 2008 all vehicles sold in the US are required to implement CAN as one of their signaling protocols.
pin 6: CAN High
pin 14: CAN Low
CANH signal voltage level: 3.5V (min/max 2.75 to 4.50)
CANL signal voltage level: 1.5V (min/max 0.5 to 2.25)
All OBD-II pinouts use the same connector, but different pins are used with the exception of pin 4 (battery ground) and pin 16 (battery positive). |

Have you checked the EOBD socket still has all it's voltage & earth supply's working?
There will be a pin out drawing online to show which pin does what.
Time to get the multimeter out.

I'm not looking to get anything back from the Omex. As the original ecu is still connected but has some sensors missing it should bring back some fault codes. I wanted to compare it's view of coolant temperature to that of the Omex. I think you might be right about getting the multimeter out.

Well when the OBD2 port stop working,it means that you have to check the power line,or the earth,as you might have one having no signal,this way it will stop working,like any other plug in the car.

Yes it did. My code reader would just show fault codes before rather than live data but not there's nothing. I will get the multimeter out this weekend.
