Front fog lights are not working when selected they show on dash and have came on in the past when they feel like it . Wiring diagram shows separate wiring so points to common connection between both lights. Also I think the relays are built in , any ideas.

Hi and welcome!

For starters it would help if you gave details about the car:

Engine, year, mileage, preplex or MUX

Have you checked bulbs and fuse?

Bulbs are H1 and fuse is fuse 6 in engine fuse box (should be a 15A) - Look in your manual for more fuse details.

My cars:
206 Urban 1.4 8v 3dr '56 - China Blue - 70k Miles - Climate control retrofit, cruise control retrofit - Dead (Breaking)

206 GLX 1.4 8v 3dr '03 - 100k Miles - Obsidian Black - Black masked headlights + front fogs, Faster sunroof, Colour matched exterior trim - SOLD

206 2.0 GTI 138 '03 - 58k Miles - Onyx Black - 17" 180 Alloys - Current

206 2.0 GTi 138 '03 - 120k Miles - China Blue - New Track Toy (ON THE WAY)

Hi the car is a 2001 , 1.4 petrol , 5door ,Glx, approx 85,000miles
I have checked and swopped fuse , checked bulbs all ok , was intermittent now not working.
I did read of someone with the same fault changing the fuse box I assume this is cause the relays are built in solid state.?

Yeah sometimes it is down to a fusebox change but I'd try and test to the best of your ability first.

Do you own a multimeter? If so I'd switch on the fogs with the fuse out and probe for voltage on the fuse pins. If voltage then you have an issue further down the line - if no then the issue is with the supply.

If yo ugot a voltage then I'd disconnect the battery, drop the bumper and check for continuity between the fogs and the relay - if no then you have a break somewhere, if yes then likely the relay is bust

Hope that helps somewhat

If you get someone to switch the fogs on and off do you hear a clicking noise from the relay?

I assume the relay is under the fuse box in the engine bay. Because they are not visible.
There is no click for the front or the rear fogs but the rear works and lights up the only click is when the headlights are turned on , nothing with just side lights being turned on.

MUX is multiplex, pre is preplex - 2 different wiring systems of the 206.

If you have the matte grey round indicator stalks then you have MUX

If you have the glossy dark indicator stalks with the flat ends then you have pre.

It is a useful thing to know when you ask for help about any 206

Mine clicks for front fogs but is quite quiet - you'd have to be right next to the fuse box with someone else doing the lights to tell the difference
