First off, my 206 went straight through it's MOT yesterday woohoo! (but they couldn't find the source of the clunking which sounds just like shocker bushes gone)
anyway,, there's an intermittent fault I have, Can't replicate it when I want, it darned annoys me when it feels like it. When coming to a stop, and not even heavy braking, the engine cuts. It starts again without fail but as it's usually at the lights or junctions its a PITA!
Anyway, today in the carpark I was reversing and a volvo shot across the rear so had to slap the brakes on a bit quick. When I pulled away forward the airbag light was flashing at me, I re-started and it went out.
My partner reckons in her infinite wisdom that these are related and reckons that if there's an accident the fuel pump will cut so it reduces the chance of fire.
So she reckons that the air bag sensor is getting infirm and wants to 'let one go'. well I hope it doesn't when I'm driving! any Ideas out there? are they related?

it's a 2000 206 1.4 GLX

Needs scanning with Peugeot Planet.

It's 15+ years old so it could be something simple like a loose / dirty connection somewhere.

Rotary switch behind steering wheel is also a known weak spot on the non plexed 206s.

Your partner is correct there is a mechanical fuel cut off inertia switch under the bonnet in the back right hand corner, should have a red rubber cover over it.
All the switch does is cut the electrical supply to the fuel pump if the switch detects a large enough impact.
