I got my 2001 2016 1.6 GLX today. Got it home. Put CDs into the swapper, gave it a little clean, locked the door, enabled alarm, and went back inside.
5 minutes or so later? Alarm goes off! I can not enable the alarm without it going off a few minutes later. Checked all the doors and boot and all seem secure, so i'm not sure what it could be.
If unrelated, there is an LED on the hazard button that is flashing quite quickly too.
I apologise in advance if this is the stupidest question you've heard. I'm new.

99% certain it will be the ultrasonic sensors triggering the alarm.
Disable the sensors with the button before arming the alarm as a test.
Ignition OFF, press & hold in the ultrasonic sensor disable button behind handbrake until the red alarm light comes on & stays on.
You have to do that every time you wish to arm the system with the ultrasonics disabled.
Now get out & deadlock the car.
The red light flashing rapidly on the hazard light switch is to tell you the alarm system has been triggered in your absence.

Hi, I am having problems with my alarm going off repeatedly (at night). I will soon be having a problem with angry neighbours....
I know in the short-term to use the key in the door to lock the car so that the alarm is not enabled.
I know that when the alarm has been sounding the lights flash differently when I go to unlock the car but how do I find out what sensor triggered the alarm?
Thanks in advance

Will the diagnostics tool reveal which sensor activated?
