Hey, hope you'll help me.
So I was trying to remove my gear knob and this happened. Too bad I watched youtube after I broke it Very Happy

 


It's sad, but I'll fix it. Will glue work? :/ What you all used to fix this thing? I cant be only one to break it. I hope! Very Happy

What is more intresting, what's under this? Is there thread there (I used translator, is this thing called thread - www.mechanica.lt/binar...epalas.jpg ?)

I've pulled the whole bit off to shorten the shaft and that didn't happen but i'd imagine a good bit of super glue would do the trick

Not threads. The plastic is either cast or pressed on. There's , IIRC (it was a while ago...), a series 0f groves/bumps on the metal shaft for the plastic to grip.

Couldn't shift it the slightest until I used an utility knife to repeatedly score a line parallel with the shaft until I got down to the metal, releasing the pressure/grip, and could then peel/pull off the plastic.

Shortened the metal rod and stuck the plastic bit back on with some 2-component epoxy glue. (Still there 12 years later)

I glued it very easy.
Now I'm just thinking of shorting the gears.
Whats better, cutting the top of it or adding extra pieces on the bottom?
