There is one on each wheel. What does the light look like that's lit?

it is very interesting i unplugged the connector from the abs unit and start the engine .and the abs light is still on?? how can it be???
can it be that the problem is in my dashboard lights unit and the abs is ok.??
i checked all the sensors with a multi meter and got 4 readings almost the same so i assume the sensors are ok.

any good idea ???what can be the problem??

I reckon that if you unplug one, it won't get the readings from that unit; making it a fault automatically.

Unfortunately I am not well versed in ABS systems and what commonly causes faults on the 206.

Did a search though, as I am interested in the fix myself. Did see the following:

Could be dirty/corroded/cracked rings, could be sensors... Don't get wet carpets do you? I had this problem in my 406 and it turned out water had gathered in the sound deadening below the carpet and had slightly corroded the plugs in the footwell. After taking them apart, drying and cleaning them the problem went away.

And a few more mentions of a cracked ABS ring.

Was going to suggest pushing the car slowly by hand. If you can hear a metallic rattle it might be the trigger rings on the driveshafts.
