Good 2nd hand lock set & window.

Repair bent part of door.

Leave paint.

If you take it the insurance way they will write that of as beyond economic repair.

Thats what I was thinking! I rely on the car to get to uni so really can't have it written off. I have spent several hours on the road today to collect some glass from spud, Cheers buddy much appreciated! Found a complete lock set for £35 and I will leave the paint. So total it's less than the excess would have been. The only issue I have now is fitting the glass. The Mechinism seems to be jammed so I cant lower it. As you all probably know the mech needs to be at least half way down to get the clearance. If I can free it up without drilling the rivets I can fit the glass myself. I have read the haynes manual and it appears to be really simple. Any one have any suggestions?

Out of interest if i got something along the lines of this. Would I have issues with key coding and the immobiliser assuming i transfer the chip and central locking electronics?

Could always just get a new key blade cut to the new lockset so you use the original remote fobs.

The standard non remote key does come apart to allow the immobiliser chip to be removed BUT the key cap is a tight fit / difficult to split.

Thats essentially what I would do. Replace all the locks but use the exsisting central locking electronic and the immobiliser chip. Im just worried about the ignition, is the key read by the ignition barrel or the ecu? essentially i just need to know if the change the ignition barrel will i have problems?

The immobiliser aerial just clips around the ignition barrel.

The barrel is just a mechanical lock.
