Pop the electric window switch out & see if there is a small black plug not connected under there.

If its there then thats the plug for the mirrors & it means you have the correct cabin wiring loom.

You would then need a replacement combined window / mirror switch ( you need to get the correct type, look at the drivers switch, if it has an A for drivers one shot window you need a replacement switch with the A - if there is no A dont fit one that has the A because it will blow the fuse )

It sounds like you will need to replace both door wiring looms for ones that have the electric mirror plugs on.

You need to match the mirror plug colour on the loom to the ones on the mirrors as there's 2 different types of mirror plugs & there NOT interchangeable!

I have the black plug under the window buttons. Was hoping it would be a simple plug in and have the switch with new tweeter covers. Probable just leave it how it is. Thanks anyways

P.s what are the small blocks for?

It is simple plug in IF you also change the door wiring looms which is pretty easy Laughing

You have the cabin part of the wiring loom as you said the black plug is there, you just need:

Combined mirror / window switch
The mirrors
2 matching door wiring looms.

sorry to drag up an old thread. I have got some "folding" mirrors with full door loom and switch that had come off a 180. now these fold in by hand with little to no effort and makes me think they are nackared. is there a way of testing these with a 12v feed to see if they fold in or will I fry them?

All the switch in the 206 does is provide +12V and ground to the 2 wires to the folding motor, polarity depending on if it's folding in or out, so the risk of frying anything is small (if drawing from the car instead of separate battery or power supply make sure you fuse the wiring). As I understand it, stopping the motor once fully folded/open is done with limit switches in the mirror.

Don't recall which pin numbers the folding wires have, but you can probably find it in the wiring diagrams in the Howto->Maintenace subforum (ah, looks to be pins 8 & 9).
Not really critical anyway, as all you'll do if powering other wires is either moving the glass in some direction or powering the heater element.

all i did to test mine was unpulg the door loom connector on the a pillar, and swap the switch out and try them from there....

mine were manually closed in so needed a few open / closed switches to get them to work to there limits.

might be easier / less worrying than putting 12v onto the pins??

The little Scaletrix motors inside the mirror that do the folding function are prone to rusting solid.

The PCB that controls the folding movement can also fail.

There is a PCB inside the mirror that controls the folding motor by cutting the power when the mirror reaches one of the end stops.
