Hi I am new to this forum, and I have trouble with my 206 2005 1.4, Petrol, I think it is the kfw engine the vin code is VF32AKFWA44850415
Engine turns over but will not start
all fuses are good
no 5 volt reference, disconnected the Maf, temp sens, crankshaft sens, ect and the 5 volt ref does not come back
changed the crankshaft sensor
Scanners will not communicate with the engine ecu, but everything else
The strange thing, When I put my old solus diagnostic the other day, no communication, but it let me clear codes, and the car started,it ran about 3 minutes and then cut out. Now I cant do it again
try to tried with Planet and a Snap on Verus and no communications with engine ecu
any help would be really appreciated

Check the wiring loom for damage where it exits the BM34 under bonnet fuse box & runs downwards & then follow the wiring loom towards the engine ecu.

I couldn't get planet to talk to our CC a while back. There is a small fuse in the engine bay fuse/relay box that supplies that .. 10 amp IIRC. Luckily there was a spare 10amp in there and we were selling the car the next day!

I had similar problems but not as severe. I use several scanning tools but they did not reveal my error codes or even recognise my car was connected. I took it to a garage and had it read and it had 6 or 7 codes. If you know someone with a sophisticated too or to a garage it may reveal some other codes.

Ok Back to the 206, after a few weeks I thought I would have another look at it. I started by checking all the fuses in the BM34 under the bonnet, I was using a cheap test light , Negative part of the light to the negative battery terminal; checking for power on the fuses. All good, So then I thought I would see where there was power on the connectors. back probing with the test light. when |I got to the black connector a very thin blue wire, The test light lit up, not very bright, but there was a lot of clicking going on in the engine bay. I thought it strange, so I wedged the test light in the back of this blue wire and tried to start it, It fired up instantly. and every time until I remove the test light. when the light is not connected it wont start...
2 Things,,, why does the test light light up and allow it to start.
and the other thing is what does that connector relate to?

That suggests there is an issue with that fues. How did you test the fuse? Did you remove then test with a multimeter? Also check the loom carefully it may be shorting somewhere or water in the loom. Post up a picture of the connector so we know what one you are talking about
