Hi,

I've got a Peugeot 206+ (2010 model), which I'd like to import to the UK. As far as I know, I need to convert the speedometer from km/h to mph, and convert the headlights and the rear fog light.

For the speedometer conversion: is it ok to simply stick on a mph dial face? Or do I need to do a full speedometer replacement?

For the headlights: is it possible to somehow adjust or swap them around to make them fit for left-hand traffic? Or would I have to buy a dedicated UK set of headlights?

Seems like there's a lot of 206 here in the UK, but haven't seen many 206+, but hope to find the necessary spares at a scrapyard...

Thanks for your advice!
B

206+ was never made in right hand drive or sold in the UK.

Would a headlight set from a 207 fit onto a 206+?

I phoned Peugeot UK today, and their technician was utterly convinced that "207 and 206 look totally different". He didn't want to hear the "+" part of what I was saying...
On pretty much all the images I've seen on the web, the 207 and 206+ look VERY similar from the front.

Another question is:
Will I be able to find suitable (and affordable) insurance on a 206+ here in the UK? If it's never been sold here, insurers probably won't have it on their list...

A Peugeot UK technician or main dealer wouldn't have any information or interest in anything to do with a 206+

I remember this has came up before & we checked on Peugeot Service box.

The 206+ & 207 headlamp part numbers are different, they look very similar but there not interchangeable.

So, basically, there's no way I can import that car into UK, right?

Wiki states:

Quote::
The 206+ is a facelifted version of the 206, with a new front end and styling, similar to the European 207.

Whether it is close enough to a 207 to make RHD headlamp units fit is probably anyone's guess. UK never had the 206+ so I doubt many would know.

And you will still have the insurance costs to consider. If the parts aren't available in the UK, it's unlikely it is going to be cost-effective.

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

The other thing to think about is running the car.

Some parts will be same as 206 & 207 but try getting parts from motor factors, they won't want to know.

You would be forever looking up part numbers on Service Box & cross referencing them.

there are 3 options.

1) Take a pair of UK 207 headlights and remove the light units to fit in to the european ones. (heating the unit up and splitting the lenses etc)

2) Buy a 206 front end and have it stripped and replace your 206+ front end

3) Buy a UK 206 and forget the whole thing.

Hi Benny,
just seen advert for 206 plus headlights for sale on ebay. Company is in Italie. Here is the number for advert 272555872845
(Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing). It states ' If headlight has Manual regulation you can mount in RHD car'. Dont really know what this means, but might be worth looking into.

Steve.

It is referring to the electric beam adjustment to account for how loaded up the car is. Those beams will also be angled to the right rather than the kerb on the UK.

To be honest it would be simpler and cheaper to buy a 206 over here. parts would be a pain to get, most insurance companies wont insure it as they have no statistical details on it.

Hi. Just wondering how you got on with this, you bring the Plus to the UK. I am in the process of it too. My decision thought isn't reversible, it's on is way.
