Hi All. After clumsy error of draining wrong plug, we now have to refill the gearbox oil. yep big doh. So I have read quite a few posts and think this is the gearbox type.. MA
We have read about a breather cap that is just up from the drain plug, that you can fill using a syringe. Yet from reading bits online and talking too peugeot, the better method is to locate the 17mm plastic " Bung" ? and fill from there.
please can someone tell me where this is? it's near the reverse ligjt switch apparently, but we can't see it. It must be easy too spot as no ones put a pic up it's that obvious.
Thanks

Hi, So after some more digging, I've found some usefull resources that may help others in same situation. Sorry if teaching to suck eggs, but we've not found much so may be helpfull.
Their are 2 types of manual gearbox. MA and BE4 I've found very detailed instructions for BE4 here
206gti.net/gear-oil/
Admin please let me know if links are a problem.
MA here

Sadly I still can't find a picture of the breather location, but will be taking of battery box tomorrow, if it's under there then I'll take a pic.

Hi 206 owners, ok so managed to make some time to have a crack at this and success, breather located. So below is a little how to for anyone in same situation. needing to refill gearbox fluid.
Here's a pic showing location of breather plug, it'roughly under the thumbs up. ibb.co/ddmNVv
To access it the plastic tubing will need to be removed, you may get away with not removing the battery box. But we found it easier to do so.
These are the things we removed.

Caution when removing / undoing battery box it has various connections and hoses on the side and underneath.

Screwdriver points the way.

Again with the screwdriver, just a bit bigger.
Right on the tip of the thumb.

That's it, much easier than taking off the wheel liner, also the way peugeot recommend. Hope this helps I'm no mechanic and something like this would of helped. Just a note as I say I'm no mechanic so can't vouch for any degree of accuracy.
If I've made a mistake please let me know. thanks

^^ As above, it's easy enough to use the filler plug on the MA gearbox.
I've got a post coming up soon about it ..
