*I fully understand that this is not cost effective, I how ever want something to work on*
I have a 52 Plate 206 and I'm ever tempted to buy a 1.6 8v saxo VTR engine on the cheap keep it in my shed and rebuild/ clean it. eventually putting it into my Car, would it drop straight in ?
I know the older engines have a different manifolds, would the newer engines have the same manifold as my current car?
(Will be Upgrading suspension and brakes)

Anything is possible mate, not thought of the 1.6 16v out of the 206 ? Would be an easier swap I would of thought plus would be quicker and more tunable in the long run

That does sound like a better idea, but would I need to change the ECU, and the dials, etc?
I guessed the the 1.6 8v would be easier to swap and could run on the 1.1 Ecu?

Saxo VTR engine would be NON plexed.
Your 206 is MULTIPLEXED.
The two different electrical systems are non compatible.
While the 1.1 ecu could possibly get the engine to start - it will run like a bag of s**te as the ecu mapping will be completely wrong for the engine.

Okay thank you for the explanation am i right in thinking that the 1.4 8v 206 engine would be a straight swap?
