Hi,

First post so please don’t judge
I bought a 206 1.4hdi 2005 (55) 3 door for my lad for his first car
Great little car just want he needs.

I bought the car from what I thought was a repetuable garage in Wiltshire
So basically the car has been messed about with ( by this garage I believe )
It came with two keys, one for the ignition the second for the rest of the car, he said the ignition barrel failed and had to be replaced ( fair enough these thing happen ), also said the remote battery was probably flat ( stupidily I didn’t question this )

So we accepted the car and drive the 50miles home, lad loves the car so he wants to sort it.

I phone the garage to say the remote battery was not the problem ( as I’ve changed it ) re-visited the garage and he says the remote board I’d fubar too and needs replacement ( which he says is not covered by the warranty)

So lost it and drove home, I found a local key/electrician who buys and fixes broken keys on the road side, he said he’d be able to fix it, just needed to order the remote ( I asked for two ). The next week he returned to fit and this is when the problems came to light.

The BSI has been changed ( know this as the VIN was different to the car ) b******s. He managed to change the VIN to the original, code the Two new transponders to the car ( now have 3 working transponders) but the remote refuses to work, after 3 hours the guy gave up.

Can anyone help out with a solution if there is one please
Cheers

Hello and welcome,

Try to resync the key with the BSI: turn ignition on, press and hold the big (lock) button for 10 seconds, release, then switch off ignition, close doors, try to lock and unlock the car.

Are there any clues as to what was used to code the new keys to the car?
