This week myself, Sim and Pez met up to trade car parts.

Proof that the 206info community is still active even in small amounts.

Even though Facebook has taken over activity from car forums I still think there is a strong need for forums such as this one that are so rich in information and interest.

I'd be interested to know how much of a presence we can gather for next years' car shows - Peugeot Fest at Prescott Hill Climb being the main one - any else?

Come on, let's be having you(!)

Ah, you see MrWhite and I also met up a little while back to exchange parts - so you're not alone!

We'll be at PugFest with the 308!

I'll unlikely be there with a 206 there this year, unless it's trailered there... Sad

Watching the various FaceCrap groups dedicated to our French rust-buckets is generally very depressing, and is a great illustration of why the admin took the hard decisions that they did that caused a big split in this very community.

I very much prefer our more informed chats this side of the internet! Wink

I believe we'll always have a spot at PugFest!
Definitely taking my car(s) there next year, caught the uphill climb bug. Plan is to have at least the custom stainless 'xaust fitted to the HDi that I just picked up from Pez Smile Speaking of proofs Very Happy

Facebook is good for lots of repetitive knowledge and new ways of solving things, also for finding parts.
But nowadays we're bombarded with too much noisy information from all kinds of sources in general.
I personally can't afford to keep up and filter Facebook posts due to time constraints.
Each to their own, many people prefer social media with all its cons and pros. I just wish there was less segregation between everyone who have the same love for 206

As for the 206info, there isn't a better place for one's project car thread IMHO (even our Garage section is still being useful), help out others, and meet occasionally for auld times sake.
Many people suggested various improvements that these forums could do with: https, Wiki pages or at least an "I found this post helpful" button, not to mention mobile version.
I'll be theming the image uploader spinner a bit more, so we could finalise this feature and work on the next one.

2.0 HDi, year 2000 (E's restin')
Red GTi 180, year 2004 (VorTechS' sEXy Beast (being) remasteRed)
Blue GTi 180, year 2004 (in hibernation after endless driving fun in 2019, queued for "cambelt in tight spaces")
Missus' 1.6 16v CC, year 2007 (L-plates to P-plates to NO-plates, but now she wants powwer:))
£50 1.4 HDi, year 2002 (seatless transporter, SORNed, rust needs patching)
EV
Jag S(crapped)- & X-Type
GTC VXR (sold)

It would be rude not to, seeing as it's our local stomping ground Wink

Yes, it's good about the parts thing but the noise is eugh. And a lot of it is noise for noise sake. "What should I do fix it or sell it?" -> "Drive it into a wall" being a typical example.

I do find myself chuckling to myself at the 'What's it worth' posts though.

I know there are other segregations, which I always found a bit odd, as a 206 is a 206. But hey, some people are just bloody minded!

I don't know about the split being a fairly new member here, but I've enjoyed several of the rambling conversations over in Modified 365 just as much as I enjoy browsing the various threads here and on 206cc.co.uk. Sadly, the chances of me making it over are slim to none, I was looking at trying this year, but when I added up all the fuel, toll road and ferry costs for a return journey I was looking at nearly a grand, if not more Sad Looks like I'll be watching these from the sidelines and admiring your pictures afterwards!

Yes. It was a pleasant surprise meeting VortechS especially not even realising it up until we mentioned Pugfest and the wife recognised my reg.

times are hard at the moment with a 23 week old boy a lot of time and money goes towards him and not the Pug (Or the sports tourer). but I do need to come over to arrange the exhaust / radiator / money swap as soon as my Hdi is motorway worthy.
