If it is possibly the Airbag ECU, can it be replaced with a used part without needing reprogramming? I have looked at the numbers on the unit and if it is a straight swap out what number needs to be the same as the one I have fitted.
also how do I access the connectors on the passenger airbags to make sure there is nothing amiss there.
Cheers for all the help so far folks. |
As you are multiplexed there is basically only 2 airbag ecu's.
You need the type for front & side airbags, its the configuration of the unit thats the key.
Go by the Autolive id number which I guess will be 600 23 70 00
If the unit came from a car with curtain airbags it will throw up a fault until tweaked.
You checked the dash airbag keyswitch?
Very rare for a multiplexed 206 to have an airbag fault other then the typical com unit failure.

I checked the dash airbag switch with a multitester (after removing it) Should it be either an open or closed switch. Reason I ask is I'm getting about 80 ohms in one possition and 120 ohms in the other. don't seem right that, so ordered a new switch today.

In OFF position should be between 65 & 140 ohms.
In ON position should be between 300 & 530 ohms.
