I seem to have a weird electrical issue. My starter motor was dead so replaced it. Engine turns over now but wont fire. I tried a BSI reset but every time I turn the sidelights on through the window it does not 'bong' instead something weird happens like the rear wiper going or some servos/motors can be heard behind the dash or the doors click, alarm primes. any ideas what the hell is going on?

Hi, Needs a scan with planet, suspecting BSI-ECU comms/immobiliser.

Had such weirdness on 1.4 HDi, sometimes also front wipers activate.

To check your immo status: do you hear bleep with the key in ignition when opening driver's door?

Do wipers work in ignition position (probably not, as been hampered by eco mode by now)?

2.0 HDi, year 2000 (E's restin')
Red GTi 180, year 2004 (VorTechS' sEXy Beast (being) remasteRed)
Blue GTi 180, year 2004 (in hibernation after endless driving fun in 2019, queued for "cambelt in tight spaces")
Missus' 1.6 16v CC, year 2007 (L-plates to P-plates to NO-plates, but now she wants powwer:))
£50 1.4 HDi, year 2002 (seatless transporter, SORNed, rust needs patching)
EV
Jag S(crapped)- & X-Type
GTC VXR (sold)

Hi. Thanks. Yes I get the bleep bleep bleep when key in ignition and door open. But yeah nothing works because of eco mode. Because the car has been parked facing down a steep incline it looks like rain water has leaked over the engine bay seal onto the ecu connectors.

Check with Peugeot Planet for which fault is causing the non-start. I'd give them a clear too, fingers crossed your ECU has been resilient enough against water ingress!

Thanks. I don’t have peugeot planet, I just have an ELM327 which I’ve scanned with but found no fault codes.
