Came across this bush while I was looking for parts for a possible steering rack rebuild. I am curious - has anyone ever tried these? What kind of play can these be used to fix.

I have an used GTI180 rack stored away which had developed a weird sloppiness which wasn't caused by either the inner or outer tie rod ends. Planning to take it apart and see what is wrong with it (I am a mechanic) and possibly fix it because those variable steering racks don't grow on trees around here and there might be actually some use to it in the near future - if it can be fixed.
