Not been on in a while, just need to share my pain currently though. Just reassembling the 180 gearbox (found a chipped tooth on the output shaft & 5th gear was loose also, just throwing it together to get on the road while we source a non-fubar one).
I'd just got my flange sealant in the post, so finally put the cases together again & was re-fitting the shift shaft retainer when I went and butterfingered the bolt & it dropped, you guessed it... Right into the gearbox case I'd just fiddled back together!
Not a happy bunny, I know I could just take the case apart again and pull it out but I'm done messing with it and the sealant went on so well. I've just ordered a magnet to go fishing with since my other pick up tool is too fat to go in.
Not the end of the world but it really did my head in! Ho hum.

Always the way, try having a transit RWD gearbox apart.....
That and an S4C gearbox without the hole to lift the output shaft have been some of the worst decisions I've made
