Hi All,

I have noticed that about 4 months ago my demister stopped working. When I press the button the light comes on but the elements on the rear window do not heat up.

I have had a quick look and it seems that all the wires in the back or ok and the elements are break free.

I have been told this may well be a fuse so I did look but I cannot see a fuse with a break in it.

Can you let me know what fuse I need to check and does it control anything else? Also what amp should it be?

If it is not the fuse what else do you think it could be?

Thanks
Gary

easy way to test is to see if you are getting power to the elements, check them with a multi-meter, if there getting power then spmething else is broke. if there not then check fuse number 10 (well thats what it is on my hdi gti 54reg), if that is fine then you will ned to check for a break in the wiring somewhere.

There is a connection on the back window that is prone to snapping off, I had to stick it down with blu tack until I could fix it back on correctly, if it isnt the fuse it could be that (right hand side when you looking at the car from the back)

Hi, I've decided the earth wire on the demister panel is not connected properly to earth. How do I get to the other end of it? Is it under the plastic panelling on the tailgate, if so how do I remove that?

The boot panel just pulls off, it's easy to do as there's a boot open behind it in case you ever get trapped.
What did I miss ???
