Hi,
Is anyone able to advise me of the difference between a six pin and 4 pin coil and a good brand. “Not to expensive”

I have a misfire issue especially when cold or cooled start, Rough idle and a poor fuel / air mixture smell. no warning lights.

Figure the Sparks and Coil are the best place to start but maybe someone here has a better idea
Thanks in advance

If you've got NGK spare plugs in, take them out

Thank you for your reply.
I’ve read reports about that, what about the Coil kit ?, I figure if the plugs are not good for the Peugeot, best that I steer clear of their coils too

Cheers
Ian

It's more likely to be the resistors in the plugs rather than their products ...

It's a clash of Sagem and NGK plugs. I went with Bosch Super 4s in our 2.0 CC. Made it run so much smoother.

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.

Thanks Gaza,
I would usually ask for Bosch plugs, but the coil I know nothing about, haha, being an oldie that started driving with a MK 2 Zepher, I just scratch my head trying to figure out these computerized cars, like them though when they are running well
Cheers

They can be a pain as half the time the only way you will find out the real problem is a diagnostic ... and most on the market don't work properly on the Pugs ... so a lot of people resort to the swap it and see process (which is costly when it takes several tries!).

Then there are these forums .. which usually have all the answers if you are prepared to run a few searches .. which todays facebook audience aren't prepared to do .. they want the answer now (or before they think of the question! Smile )

I learnt to drive in an Austin A35 .. and also learned the basic mechanic skills getting that car back to a legal and reliable car .. and am now rebuilding that same A35 (after over 40 years stored in my mother's garage!). Although it will definitely not be the same Wink

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.
