Hi
I am new to this forum as I have just bought a 206 for my wife. it is a 2004 with 9000 miles on the clock yes you read right enough an amazing 9000. I do have a couple of problems with it however one is the speedo reading, when reading 30 mph it is actually doing 36mph and the differance goes up with the speed. I have guessed it may be the sensor do you think I am correct?
the other problem is more complicated and is the central locking system. When useing the remote key the locks make a low clicking noise and the lights flash but nothing happens. if I use the key in the lock it will only lock that door. what I also find strange is the curtisy light is on constently when set to come on with the doors and I think may be part of the central locking issue.
I would be gratefull for and input or advice
Jimmy

Are there any door open warnings on the screen? For example, when going over a bump.

The locks have microswitches and parts that move can wear. In my case the passenger door intermittently showed as open, then just stayed almost always showing as open. I ended up buying a power lock latch mechanism from the wreckers and replacing it. It was a bit of work to remove the door panel. Some contortion involved in figuring out how to get the metal rods off the latch and getting that latch out. Having a good look with a flash light, patience and a few twists in the right way and it comes out.

Also, it is possible to fix the the door latch. www.dclabs.lt/dainiaus/?p=2132

Being a 2004 Model, the door latch should have a 6 pin connector ( older ones DAM 8575 and before have a 9 pin connector).

Not sure, but the hatch /trunk could activate the light too. Anyway, you need to figure out which door it is before proceeding.

Probably find more information if you search "Peugeot door locks bounce"

thanks for your reply. No there are no warning lights flashing, I had a closer look at the hatch lock and it will lock but not unlock. I checked the wires and got power when locking but no power when unlocking. The problem seems above my head so I will try to get an auto electrician as it could be the bsi unit and going round all the doors will be a lot of work

Going to make a stupid suggestion here - but worth checking as I've encountered it on other cars. In regards to the speedo issue - are the correct size tyres fitted? Otherwise I'd be looking at the sensor as well!
Good luck with it, that's some incredible mileage! My 04' plate is going on 95k!

+1 on correct size wheels..

Also, 'could be the wrong size wheels programmed into the BSI after other work on the unit.
