Hello!

I thought I'd share my ongoing 206 money-pit project. This is a 2006 Sport 1.4 16V that I've owned since 2018. I've been slowly modifying it with various modifications with many more planned. Here's where I'm up to so far.

Stock car when bought in 2018:

First modifications through 2020. SP grill, GTi spoiler, fly-eye wrapped headlights, black badge, LED 'animated' indicators, black lexus rear lights

June 2020. Sourced a battered intake until I could find a better replacement

July 2020. Fitted a stereo with Bluetooth handsfree and connected to the steering wheel controls

September 2020. Not much except a new 4" Sportex backbox wax/detail, new 180 gloss electric mirrors, tow strap, gloss centre console & chrome knobs. At the end of Sept I bought a new Maxton Design splitter and 3D gel reg-plates

March 2021. New 206 GTi 180 alloys in Mercedes pearlescent gunmetal grey. Attended a local car event with fellow 206 owners:

August 2021. Attended another local meet with a lot of 206 owners:

August 2021: Stance+ coilovers fitted. Front lowered, rear left alone for now. GTi 180 bucket seats sourced and fitted. Big hole in the driver side, which we'll fix later. Short-shifter fitted, new leather gaiters, new gear knob, new intake fitted:

September 2021: First PugFest! Great time and amazing cars. Very inspiring!

February 2022: Bought another set of Gti 180 buckets, cleaned up a base to replace the gaping hole in my existing buckets.

February 2022: Wrapped my steering wheel with new material, red stitching and a 12' marker:

It's not much, but it's been a great time so far.

Rear needs lowering indeed! Torn between lowering the existing axle or buy a lowered refurbished axle from ImAxles...

Time for some updates.

Before venturing to Pugfest 2022, I carried out some fun modifications.

First off, the engine bay. Cleaned up the bay and routed an oil catch can to the breather & aftermarket intake. Fitted a strut brace (blocked the hole I drilled!).

My brakes were starting to fade pretty bad, so I got hold of the 283mm GTi 180 brake setup. I went with Mtec discs and EBC Yellow pads after getting the calipers rebuilt.

Can't stop there! Piggy Power supplied 266mm rear vented discs and carriers with Mintex pads. Mounted using a simple spacer/adapter.

Next up, tyres. No point having great brakes if I can't grip to the road. Fitted new Michelin Pilot Sport 5, 40 profile. What a difference! The grip is amazing, definitely recommend.

Lastly, a new stainless steel cat-back exhaust by Tony Banks in Leeds.

Only a small update, I can't get much done recently! I've started heatproofing the engine bay and sourced a new pipercross mesh filter to replace the cheap filter. I'll be taping the underside of the intake soon and finish taping up the power steering lines.

Currently building AN hoses to replace the existing rubber hoses connecting to the oil catch can. I'll post some photos when they're plumbed into the car.

I've been on the Dyno last month, I'll get some details posted up soon. Shocked
