Hi, thought i would post my little project up on here as there doesn't seem to be many people doing things to what i would consider one of the best small hatchbacks ever made.

I have done a few 206's over the years but none to this degree, hopefully this thread might inspire some one to bring back an old 180 and give it a fresh lease of life like they deserve.

Anyway, i got this car in October 2021, Extremely beat up mechanically and the paint wasn't in the best shape either. The best thing about it was the engine and gearbox is in fantastic condition, only has 79k on it. Everything was loose on the car with all the suspension and arms tired and worn.

Pics when we first got it back after a quick wash

Not in the best condition exterior wise, lots of swirls scratches knocks and nasties all over it. It also had a bent boot lid some how!

And then the ideas started to come in, and so it began.

Originally we tried just a gloss black tint on the rear lights but i didn't like it so that idea was scrapped. Ended up buying LED rear lights from Fkautomotive in Germany.

Also at this point we fitted the carbon effect light weight door cards and pull straps, also ripped the back end out and fitted the harnesses with the eyes to bolt them to along with the new seats.

Found a mucky set of morrette lights and sorted them out. Ignore my terrible excuse for a sunstrip, i thought it was a good idea lol.

Fitted a new rear beam, pro sport coil overs and all of the running gear underneath was replaced with brand new items. Also fitted a toyo sport decat.

Custom read diffuser we made out of ABS carbon effect plastic. Non functional of course.

Now we we didn't think the back end looked good enough so we tried a daring mod with a tegiwa rear wing meant for an EP3, i think it turned out pretty good!

And then just the final few mods, splitter, mudflaps, and wing deflectors and a new sunstrip.

And this is the finished car in all its glory at adamcfest in june.

Very nice build. Made sense to get one needing some suspension work if the plan was to change it anyway. Not sure I've seen a gti 180 in black but excellent to see another saved.

Car is still going strong, stored for now as my attention is focused on a special project. Hoping to unveil and pugfest 2023 but unsure if the car will be ready in time.

Very nice mate, wasn't it for sale at some point? Thought I saw it for sale when I was looking around for a 180 earlier in the year.

I do love a black 180 and was looking to get another black one initially but when my bro offered me his red 180 for £1k I couldn't say no.
