Hey guys, unsual post but I am in a dilema.
Not that long ago I had a 1999 306 1.9 DTURBO which was nice but had no service history and had been well abused and repair costs were mounting up into the £3k mark, so I bought one of my dealers loan cars, a 2000 206 1.4 GLX which has a few extras very well looked after and only 75,000 miles.
2 days ago a mate hung off the edge of my 206 (mucking about) and ripped the aerial out of its socket holding on to it, so yesterday I dropped the 206 off at my peugeot dealership and got another loan car. It's an X reg (2000 I think) 306 1.8 Meridian Moonstone blue with 90,000 miles. It is in mint condition 2 owners and full service history, and my god does it fly!! Never thought a 1.8 would be liek that, and the whining kompressor sounding engine sounds amazing. It's £1495 with a 3 month full warranty. Do I go for it or will I regret it with expensive unreliable 306 bills in the future?

Do whatever you want, personally I feel the 206 is a better car than the 306 but it's all down to personal perferrence!

I'd agree that the 206 is better but only in some ways. The 306 to me feels better made and drives better but looks mroe outdated :S is there such a thing as a 1.8 206?

Why take the car to a dealer just to get an aerial fixed?

id never sell a 206 to get a 306, only time i would is if i had a 1.1 or 1.4 and i got offered a gti-6 but 180s are better then gti-6s, and you think a 306 drtive better?????? yeah over a terrible 206 get a 138 or 180 better cars by a country mile ive driven a gti6 and a 180 and a 138 and the 206 drive better and the 180 is quicker then the fat 6

Have you actually driven a 306 before? Standard vs. standard there's very little in power outputs compared to a '6 and a 180, the build quality of the 306 is far better, as is the ride quality and handling. It does look a bit dated now, and the 206 has a lot more mod-cons.
Up to you really, if I could I'd take a '6 over any other 206 any day.

LOL i'm not surprised you had cost mounting up to 3k if you were going to dealer every time!! What the hell did you do to it to get that much??
My 306 is a 1.9DT and done 147000 miles and i've spent nowhere near that maintaining it.
