What is it with people these days!? Parked up in co-op car park in Plympton (Plymouth) and came back to the car to be cnfronted by 2 decent guys telling me a couple had driven into my car when they parked up and just walked off
On inspection of my car they have scraped the front bumper, pushed the front wing in where the rubstrip ends and have caused the top edge of the SP arch away from the wing itself, the wing is that warped that the front grille does not meet the wing properly and the far edge nearest the door does not sit flush like it used too.
I took pictures of my paintwork on the other cars rubstrip where they hit me and there registration number, forget to get the number of the guys who told me about the incident but luckily they work for chubb so got the reg of their car and a number for chubb so if I need to a witness statement from them I can try and get hold of them.
So now I need a new front wing, front bumper resprayed and a new sp arch

STOP!!!!!
Call the police and advise them of a hit & run - get an incident number.
Than call your insurance company and tell them you have independant witnesses and photos of both cars and the damage..
Get your insurance to fix everything and they will claim back from who hit you. it will be a non faukt claim and not affect your policy or premiums.
Take it from me - an insurance underwriter!!

I was very lucky when my dad's merc was parked at Silverstone some young guy smashed right into it but he was courtious enough to leave his details on a piece of paper and we got it sorted quickly.

Well best thing to do is to let your insurance company know, if your fully comp you wont have to do anything, if your 3rd party, you will have to do the run around!
But luckily people where there to witness it!
I really do hate people causingdamage then walking/driving off

They didn't leave anything at all according to the guys that spoke to me, they just walked off and thought nothing of it even when i'm sure they would have felt their car hitting against mine

You should also count yourself lucky that someone decided to inform you. It is an awful thing to happen but it'll be sorted.
Such is the life of car parks.

Premiums can still go up even if it is non-fault.

Been to the police and reported the incident with them, there classing it as a hit and run because the driver did not hang around to exchange details, now got to go to a decent bodyshop to get a quote on repairing the damage and let the insurance company know and go from there.
