Is it reli worth upgrading my torsionbars to the gti 180 spec ?
Will I notice a posative difference ?
As I don't want to pay £60 per bar and £80 for fitting to be no different
So any body done this and recommend it ?

Is this normal driving, or when your driving enthusiastecly or on a track? I would say to the OP, if your a steady driver then I wouldn't bother. If you like driving hard or track days, do it.

Put it this way. Would you ever fit uprated springs on the front of any other car without uprating the rear? No? I didn't think so.

OOPS....... I have Gaz custom coilovers on the front and standard GTi torsion bars with Gaz dampers on the rear... Handled Castle Combe rally day brilliantly and beat some big cars....
Lets put it this way.... If you can drive a car well, Have decent dampers, You dont need a stiff rear end, But as a rule... what you do to the front, also do to the rear.... Paul, I agree with you for road use

Standard torsion bars will enable the car to corner quickly and safely but if you also want to tune the suspension to enable the car to be a bit more tail happy and entertaining you need to stiffen the rear.
