Heya there,

I have a 1.1LX 2000 model that's gearbox has died and I was wondering what gear boxes would be suitable e.g. different years and litres etc.

also my mileometer doesn't display my miles correctly and I was wondering if all 206 gauges had the same connections so I could whack in a later years sportier gauge I've seen going.

And what would be reasonable prices for these if anyone has previous experience in purchasing them.

Cheers Wink

You'll have a MA gearbox. The 1.1, 1.4, 1.6 and 1.4HDi gearbox will fit. However, the gear ratios will differ slightly on other engines.

Has the bulb gone behind it? if thats fine and its a new cluster you need, then it needs to come off a pre-2001 car. And make sure it has a lower mileage than your car.

Tigger is my favourite

Stick to the 1.1 gearbox though, as anything from a larger engine (despite being able to fit) will give you slower acceleration due to the higher gear ratios

Cheers for the fast replies,

Thanks for the info Lee, no the bulb hasn't gone as about half of each digit displays fine but it's completely unreadable, would any pre 2001 gauges fit then?
Yeah Tigger is my favourite too, Eeyore is more of a nick name as I'm never happy Wink

Hey Teebag possibly how much would you want for them, have you got picture and how many miles has it done? Cheers Smile

Thanks for the advice Andrew, I think I shall then as it's acceleration is next to nil as it is lol

Because the ecu and cluster both stores the mileage, and the highest mileage automatically overwrites the lowers. Its Peugeot's Anti-clocking feature.

So if your car has done 80k, and you buy a cluster with 120k on it. It will be as though your car has done 120k, and you'll have to show a hell of alot of naked body for someone to put it back to 80k
