hey guys, just painted my new bumper with holes for fogs but i really need some help wiring them in. its only a 2000 lx so i havent got the wiring looms already.

ive brought the 12 quid wiring kit from halfrauds (never more true) and the instructions arent too helpful at all.

basically ive got a switch for inside the car, a relay, a fuse and the appropriate wires. The earth and battery wiring i understand but im not sure about how/where to connect to the wiring for the full beam so the fogs come on when flashed (assuming thats legal?)

any help much appreciated, ive seen posts by loads of incredibly informed people saying its pretty easy and then giving a two line explanation but i kinda need pics or something, just any guidance really,

Thanks

4 Pin Relay

30 = constant +12volts
85 = earth
86 = switch
87 = output/s

The constant +12 volts will connect to the positive terminal on the battery

The earth will connect to the chassis earth or the negative post on the battery

The switch will connect to the grey wire (main beam feed) on the passenger’s headlamp

The outputs will go to the fog lights

EDIT: wireless ftw Cool - www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqvbh9ipF8U

i added a 2nd relay from high beam (high beam wire to 85 then 87a or 87 (i think it is) ) to the trigger (85) on the relay you have now, did the trick. of course the 12v and earths connected on both relays.

worked with the manual switch or when high beam was activated or flashed.

that the way i did it anyway.

it was literally you two who's posts ive been reading to get an idea about this, ok so i have that four pin relay matching with those numbers, ive got:
the wire with the fuse in to the battery,
the ground wire,
another wire that goes to the switch
and a final one that splits into two (i assume this goes to the foglights).

The switch has a ground wire and space for another wire which is where i think i wire to the headlights.

honestly i'm not a simpleton but that is what ive worked out in the last hour lol, i think this is right, still a few questions but am i on the right track?

Don't forget to fuse it! People always forget and then wonder why their car went on fire. And remember, always place the fuse as near to the battery as possible and on the +ve side.
ICE goes in drinks. NOT in cars.

1st pic i found on internet of basic foglight wiring, iadded a or dash lights onto the fuse box bit, as that will make sure they only work if sidelights or more are on.......

2nd pic i edited to show how i wired it up so the fogs flashed when i flash full beam or they came on when fullbeam was selected.......

thats how i did it, (might be other ways) and worked fine and was working when car was sold about 1year later or more Laughing

good luck
