Just wondering I have found some earth-ing points on my motor while wiring my fog lights but the wires i have are too short, can I just buy any wiring and connect it all up.
I have no electrical shops near by so I was just gonna use any wiring that I could buy from wilkinsons, is this safe lol ?
Thanks for any help

as long as its same thickness and you connect it to existing wire correctly and safely then yes. should be fine

yerh as long as the wire is the same or a little bigger you wont have a problem! obv not to big but be sensible. 2.5mm should be sufficant.

Ah ok cool, so I could just buy some cable from Wilko s and do away with the existing wire I have to avoid getting an un-matching thickness.
The wire I saw in there on my lunch break was a standard White insulated cable with two wires in there, im thinking I could just strip the outer white plastic off and use either the green or brown wires that are inside. This isn't going to blow me up is it?
Thank for the quick reply guys

if its only fogs your earthing then yes but i would recommened taping up with black insulating tape so it can be seen as more of an earth then if the cable is red or blue.

you talking about mains cable by the sound of it??? it would work for a bit(could use the green/yellow earth) but personaly, for only a few quid most motor factors sell on rolls.

I can't drive because the bumpers off and no garages around here to get some, it probably is a mains cable, when you say it'll work for a while, does that mean it could fail on me relatively soon ?

u mean crimps good luck withe the job dude few tips
1. Rough up the contact area revealing bare fresh un-oxidised metal
2. If u want mark the cable as an earth could do this in two ways either green and yellow tape nd wrap abit around or you could ferrul the cable as "C 90" , both these are international simble of earth!
3. Take your time and if in doubt ask
