engone cut out!!!!!

Wondering if you can help,
When i was driving home yesterday i was in heavy traffic and my car cut out twice. It then made a beepy noise same as when you open you door when the the car is running. I then parked up, switched the ignition off and then on and it wouldnt start up until 2 attempts (the battery signal showed on the dash). this morning it was fine as normal even though it was freezing cold?.
