Silly question, but I don't like to break anything Smile

I have a GTi 180, therefore folding mirrors etc.

My passenger side mirror is broken/loose, so I've got a RG passenger mirror as a replacement Smile - first, im correct in saying these fold in too right?

My question is, how do I remove the coloured/carbon effect caps? Any tips or advise? I wouldn't want to break it..
