I currently have a gti 138, but im interested in changing over to a gti hdi to save money on fuel. What kind ofeconomy are people getting out of the diesel version? and has anyone tuned one? what kind of figures are you gettin? cheers

dont do it those engines are a bloody nightmare (i work in the motor trade and we've had a lot of problems with them)
better off keeping the petrol the money you save in fuel would be wasted in repair bills
if you really must have a diesel id go for the 2.0hdi they seem to be pretty good in comparison to the 1.4/1.6 ones

What power does the gti hdi have then as i thought the 2.0 hdi had 110bhp

2.0HDi = 90bhp
1.6HDi 16v = 110bhp

206 1.6 HDi=110

remappped 2.0hdi is your best bet or just drive more steady in your petrol one

I have a 2.0l HDi, and gotta say although by no means quick standard it's been faultless, and I average 50.4 miles to the gallon, and it does get thrown around on occasion so can't complain! all I wanted from a work horse

yeh get the d turbo hdi, so you get the better seats and few interior bits and sports, wings bumpers ect, intercooler and re map
