My 206 was involved in a road accident where a HGV ploughed into its rear on a dual carriageway. ( year 200 plate 206 LX)
its now sitting at home as an insurance write-off, and a good few inches shorter than it was. its now waiting to be picked up by some vehicle salvage company appointed by the insurance company.
So now i need a replacement, and with my budget being tighter than i would have liked, and the fact that i need a replacement ASAP ive ended up with another 206, this time a 2001 plate (51 reg) Xsi
Are there any parts that i could 'remove' from my old 206, that would be of use on the newer one?

Doubt it. The LX is a worse spec than XSI. Unless you have any alloys or something you want to save?

XSi ftw! as Howey said there's nothing thats really going to be better tbh unless you have added anything to your old one. could strip it and sell a few parts to get some extra cash though?

be carefull what you remove, if its a modified car and your mods are declared, should you remove them and replace for standard parts they might take a dim view and alter your payout.

If it's written off be careful what you take off, Modified or not, as it's now the property of the insurance company, not you! Don't want to be done for theft.

I suppose youve got a point, As for modifications there arent any except for a different radio, as the origanal one didnt work that well and i wanted one with a working tape cassette player or line in for my MP3 player.

Some insurance companies let you keep the car, just phone and ask
Both my parents had there old mk4 fiestas written off and asked the insurance company if they could keep it and we still have one of them here which runs
Mind you this was a good few years back but no harm in asking

Not sure they just give it to you, might have to buy it back off them.
