Before I start, let me just say, I've done this before and f****d it up. Hence the creation of this thread.

I've just bought a second set of dials for my car, the first set I broke whilst trying to convert the illumination from orange to blue. The illumination of the fuel side goes on and off randomly, and the speedo needle spins whenever I start the car, I assume that has something to do with me spinning the needle a few 360's whilst trying to remove it, I must have busted the motor. This meant I had to remove the clear plastic so I can spin the needle back to 0 everytime (annoying).

Anyway, I've bought a second set which I'm looking to convert at some point soon, since I broke the first set I'm willing to pay for someone to do the conversion for me, complete with red needles if I can acquire some. So if anyone thinks they can handle a soldering iron or has done it before, successfully. Please PM me if your interested and live close enough/willing to travel to the Sheffield area. Any questions, please PM or post below

Are you talking about orange to blue using LED's?

If so, there's no need to take the dials off - you undo the back and take the bulbs out from the circuit.

Kyle (gti180boy) in Stafford did mine (2004 GTi 180)

They're soldered on the newer higher end models not just screw in bulbs
