How interchangeable are the coilpacks? All fits all?
Or are there different ones through out a different year range etc?
Can I use my GTi 138 (pre-plexed) 2000 on my GTi 180 (multi-plexed) 2004 car?
I'm guessing no. But what's the general rule regarding this..

don't think coilpack has plexed or pre-plex.
but as i remember, 1.1,1.4 and 1.6 8V use the same coilpack, 1.4,1.6 16v share the same one, don't know about Gti ot 180gti

138 multiplexed and 180 coils have different part number but maybe its interchangable.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but out of interest how much were you selling the coil pack for? just breakdown services are on the way to run diagnostics on my car and I suspect it is the coilpack. So a rough ball park how much these cost would be great so he doesn't rip me off with his parts.
