Right so i've had my 206 for about 2 months or so now.
Its had a few hiccups but got sorted, not too bad.
Was driving home from York yesterday and found my self slowing down in fifth, dropped it down a gear and floored it, still wouldn't accelerate.
Right so I pulled up and rung the AA, they said 2-3 hours for someone to come out.
Thought I would leave it and see what its like on the dual carriage way.
Drove off for about 5-6 miles and it was fine, doing about 70 and then suddenly it was decelerating.
I thought oh bugger.
By the way the EML had come on by now.
Pulled off at Tadcaster and drove round the back roads, it was still slow and wouldn't accelerate.
I was in second doing about 3000-4000 revs and the thing would just not move.
So then I got to East Keswick, and got a phone call from the AA saying that they was there, this was only 30-40 mins after I originally called them.
So then I got home and gave the AA a call.
They came out and had a look at the car, read the ECU and found that it had a PO300 Random/Multiple misfire error that had flagged up.
He said it could be a coil pack but could be a injector issue.
He said with the issue being gradual, i.e. the engine slowed down rather than jerked that the issue is probably the Injector.

Any ideas what it could be, Ive read it could be a #4 injector issue, but couldn't it be any?

The cars getting looked at by a garage tommorow anyways, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas what it could narrow down to and how much it might cost?

Thanks

It could be any of the injectors, yes, but it's usually number 4.

I had number 4 fixed last year, why is it almost always number 4? I think I remember hearing something about it being due to water?

Cant advise on the costs, as it was a warranty claim

mines in for a new injector.. it sounded like it was running on 3 cylinders. They guy at the garage said that water is a problem with injectors.

it's gonna cost 75 quid for a new 1

Just had a phone call from the garage.
He reckons that its the coilpack.
So he's replaced that and taken it out 4 times and had no problems with it.
So will pick it up tonight or tommorow and take it for a long spin, see if all is well or if all is gloomy.

Right so got home..... eventually.
Guess what, the car is doing the same thing, late response, lack of power, misfiring.
And the EML came on too.
Taking it to the garage tommorow for further inspection.
Was looking through the service history too and approx a year ago the car had 4 injectors replaced on the car too.

Kieron - the car got fault code read by the AA and got given the PO300 code, and when i say a friend its a friends mate. Just couldn't be getting into that laborious chain.

Seabook - the car had the Coilpack replaced today and still has the same issue Sad

Right seems like the new coilpack that was added was faulty.
So he replaced that and it seems to be ok..... although....
I was driving the car and it doesn't feel the same, its not as responsive as before.
The guy changed the spark plugs on it he mentioned, but just out of curiosity cause i know that the 206 needs specific SP's. What would the car do if it had the different kind of spark plugs, would it chug a little?

Last Friday the car slowed down again and came up with the EML.
I pulled over and switched it on and off, worked fine again.
Took it to the guy to see the error code..... no error codes he said, none what so ever.
Reset the EML and it hasn't come on. But ive driven it tonight and its a little sluggish.
I know its a 1.1 but it wasn't before.

Think it could be the SP's?
