hi im new to this site, just looking for some help or advice, i have a w reg 206gti, it started and drove fine for 2 days, yesterday i went to shop came out and car wont start, all the dashboard lights up, and i can hear a noise from under the bonnett. i discouncted the battery put it back on , still no start. left it a couple of hrs and then it started and drove 50 miles home. this morning it wont start again.... pls help

Imobiliser Fault?? Next time it does it try locking the doors then unlocking them and try again.

sounds like a flat battery is somthing clicking when you turn the key?
get your battery checked and alternator as it couldnt be charging?
has you battery got the magic eye on it if so you can test it by that to see if its at fault

Will it just not fire up? Will it keep running with your foot on the throttle?

Why would it be the battery if it started again after a few hours?

When my battery went on my 206 GTi, I got it started a couple of times between time it refused to start.

because batterys work in funny ways have you ever had a flat battery on your phone then a few hours later it will turn on again
same with cars give a a coupe of days it wouldnt turn on

yeah rich, i tried what you said still no luck, thanks anyway. The noise like tic tic tic sounds like its coming from the engine by the coil pack.
