Water temp gauge is bottom of rev counter on the GTI clock set.

I take it that's the gauge you dont have working at the moment?

Gauge on right is oil temp.

Non plexed or plexed car?

Right type of gauges for the wiring system?

When it goes to the top it is telling you the oil level in sump... then it tells you oil temp after a few seconds... should register a reading after engine warms up.... sensor for that is in the sump on the left-hand rear as you look from the front of the car

a bit more on this, went out to the car which hasnt been running since last night so its cold, straight away the water temperature goes to red and stays there and the stop light starts flashing and the fan kicks in, is this just a dodgy sensor? after driving for a minute or 2 the gauge goes to zero and doesnt move even after the cars warmed up and the stop light goes out. anyone got a peugeot part number and price for it?.

the cars a 2001 1.4lx but now has a gti 138 engine if it makes any difference?, not sure if the 1.4 had an oil temperature or if it was just water temp so might explain why the oil temp gauge doesnt work as it probably doesnt have the interior wiring for it.

Cheers for the help so far.

Yeah just took the car for a drive for a few miles to warm it up got back and the hose from the radiator to where the sensor is was hot, typically when i tried to video starting the car to show the water temp gauge and stop sign it didnt happen!, temp gauge still didnt move once it was warmed up though.
