On a 1.1 there will be minimal power increase if any, just smoother power delivery.
But on a 1.1 there is no power anyway so its pointless.
A 1.1 might gain 10bhp but thats unlikey, and not worth the money.

Remaps have best gains on forced induction engines where they can gain over 50bhp in some cases.

Cost for a decent one will be around £200+ but you'd be better off saving that money for a faster car.

Seeing as we're on the subject, what would you be looking to gain on a 1.4 hdi? Razz

and would a K&N panel filter make any noticable difference?

thinking more in summer, mind, too icey atm Wink

the xs 1.6 only gains between 6-8 from a remap. a 1.1 will probably be around a 3-5 gain. not exactly worth £200+ take out the back seats or something if you want a bit more speed atleast thats free

air filter rarely affect turbo unless you are running big power..

standard remap already give you quite a bit power gain. Very Happy

my daztec ecu pushes power from 138 to 148 but had 144 on old gti due to engine being on its way out so a on a 1.1 you may gain 0.15696969595 bhp in other words f*** all,and on a 1.4 hdi is just as pointless tbh and no matter what people say you cant tell any difference from a panel filter i swapped on my gti before i got a viper and i could just tell with a cf inducton noticed sod all with the filter, panel filters make no difference

No. filter first. A map is designed to take mods into account, whereas a mod doesn't take a map into account. Basically do all performance mods first with a map to top it all off and bring them all together. Otherwise you have to get a new map everytime you add another engine mod, or you won't get the most out of the mod.

You'll get about 5 bhp from a map or possibly 6.

The more noticable difference will be availability of power slightly lower down the rpm range if the map is done right. So the traffic light grand prix will be slightly more fun.

Top speed won't increase noticably. Realistically it is only the torque improvement that you will notice.

i got a vectra gsi 2.6 gsi and a panel filter or cone filter sounds really nice but power wise na f**k all mate.

remap not really worth it unless you got a 2litre petrol/diesel turbo, you wont see enough gains to cost. i havnt bothered with a remap on the v6 it just wont give enough bhp, if your going to spend that kind of money get a 2.0 hdi mate.
