Right,
Hope everyone had a nice Christmas and that Santa brought what you wanted
Cut long story short, cause i've written an essay below. Car is chugging, barely revving, struggling to survive and the AA guy thinks its a Throttle Body issue. Below is the story of whats happend though.
Now onto the problem I have.
My beloved 206 is being a pain once again, the issue started on the 24th December.
It was sluggish and slow and I thought it was the coil pack once again.
Came home from White Rose shopping centre yesterday and the car was pretty much un drivable.
The car was chugging, would barely move and sometimes wouldn't get up to 3000 revs.
It was an awful drive.
Got about a mile away from home and the car would barely rev and just wouldn't move when pulling the clutch out slowly.
Right so at that point I called the AA out and they was with me within about 15 mins which was good.
The guy read the fault code which came on, on 24th December which said PO170 Fuel Trim, and was a generic code. He reset the car and off I went, didn't have much of a problem up to my house.
Set off from my house and got about 3-4 miles away and the car was chugging and being slow again, stopped off at a hotel car park and rung the AA. (twice within an hour :\ )
The AA guy was out within 20 mins (great again) and he started it up, revved it and nothing happend, took it for a spin and still nothing, then it happend when the engine had been running for a bit, so when it gets a bit more hotter.
The guy left it idle and it cut out about 3 times, was really struggling to keep alive.
Decided it was best to get towed back to my gf's and leave it there. So left engine on for power steering and the car cut out 4 times on a 2 mile journey.
Tried revving to keep it alive and the car would just not rev what so ever, i would put my foot down and nothing what so ever. (yes the car was on lol)
It had 750revs going through but no response from the engine when accelerating.
Pulled up outside my gf's house and tried moving it and got late response from the car and barely any revving.
The AA guy said he think it could be the Throttle Body thats at fault.
Sorry for the essay, any input appreciated

i dont know if this relates to your problem but i have seen a this kind of problem with 206's a couple of times, they will not start or seem to run out of fuel while driving, well it has a few symptons, when pluged in no faults are found or no ecu found, it turns out to be a fault/break in a wire in the loom that goes around the engine, the cover on the top of the engine rubs against the loom and forms a break in the wire.
well worth a look mate, i didnt see the problem my self so thats all i know, but just check the wires for any damage.

Thanks for that table mate.
Thinking of taking it into Peugeot as it seems like it could be varied ammount of things. Any idea how much it will cost for them to look at it?
It couldn't be the spark plugs could it? Just asking cause the garage that I went to for the coilpack said they fitted new sparkies. Tried to get them out yesterday but its a right pain to get to em and then found my tools wouldn't reach :\
Cheers

Hope they wasn't NGK spark plugs.
Has it got a genuine Bougicord coil fitted?

Erm I'm not sure what coil pack I've got on it. How would I go about finding if its a correct one? So would the sparkies make the car do what its doing?
Thanks

NGK spark plugs cause all sorts of running / electrical faults on 206's ( & other PSA stuff ) due to the phase detection system built in to the coil pack.
Easy way of telling what coil is fitted, unplug the connector, undo the 2 bolts, carefully lift it of & look for a makers name.

Right so I went to Peugeot today to try book the car in, got it booked in for Monday.
Well I got a phone call from the AA today to see how the service was.
They also offered me the BRC service for £55 up until October so that if my car needs to be taken to the Garage if they cant repair at roadside they will tow it there and pay the first £500 for the bill.
Gf took the car for a spin today and the juddering/no throttle response issue is still evident on the car.
The AA will pay up to £500 on each time they take the car to the garage for up to 5 times for the year.
Only issue is that it wont kick in for 14 days as there's a cooling off period if I dont want it.
So going to wait 14 days, take car out, get them to tow me and get car repaired.
Gotta pay the first £25 for excess fee. But if thats all it costs me then brilliant. Will let people know how it goes when I get the service done.
